seduced by the coupon
Last weekend I decided to drop by McDonalds for their bkfst sandwich. I had a 2 for 1 coupon so seemed like a good deal. I was on my way down from Whistler to do a Open House & was in a bit of a time crunch. I drove into the drive through & waited for 10 minutes & realized I was not in the fast track so did wiggle out of line & went inside thinking that that would prove to be faster. Not. After parking the car & getting inside I now needed to wait in a line that was over 12 people deep. Clutching onto my coupon I humored myself into thinking that this would be 5 minutes tops. After all how long does it take the counter personel to grab a muffin & coffee...well I soon learned that it took a lot longer than I calculated. I waited another 20 minutes!!!! When I walked back to my car with my egg mcmuffin in my hand I shook my head at the insanity of waiting 30 minutes for my bkfst & asked myself...Betsy had you not had that coupon would you have waited & the answer was no. So I waited 30 minutes to save $2. Good marketing for McDonalds, bad use of my time. Next time I will not allow myself to be seduced by the $2 coupon.
