Cornucopia at Whistler

My favorite event last weekend at Whistler's Cornucopia was the Women & Wine Literary event held in one of Whistler’s fabulous private homes in Horstman Estates on Blackcomb Mountain’s Benchlands neighborhood. Nu and Rain City catered the lunch. Very yummie food art fully presented and served by “airbrushed” waiters. Harry and daughter Christa-Lee from Sumac Ridge Winery were present to explain the different wines that they chose to go with the different appetizers and entrees. To add a very special touch, this Suffragette Luncheon guest speaker Seattle’s Kit Bakke talked about her new book ‘Miss Alcott’s E-mail’. What an afternoon!! It was a perfect way to celebrate my 58th birthday in style.

Luncheon # 1 - Women, Wine & Books: Literary Luncheon

Presented By: Whistler Reads Event Management, Nu Restaurant with Sumac Ridge Estate Winery

A big hit last year, this year enjoy a "Suffragette Luncheon" in a stunning private Whistler home with celebrated author, Kit Bakke, whose book, Ms. Alcott's E-mail, has been matched to delicious wines from Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and cuisine from Vancouver's hottest new restaurant, Nu. The suffragette theme pays homage to Ms. Alcott's feisty history, and lunch will feature gentlemen wearing little else than a "Give Women the Vote" placard. Prudes be advised. Autographed copy of the book included.
